Cali asked for a new purse and lip gloss. When I wouldn't buy her one, she decided to make them for herself!

The Letter U
Good gravy, it's a miracle this is getting posted at all
this week. It was a wonderful weekend but it sure has been busy. In fact, it
started last week and the business will continue for a least a week more. Whew!
I struggled with U and in truth used a picture I'd taken as a back up for" T".
Other friends had their "U" pictures since the beginning of the week. Go figure. :)
I am hoping "V" comes easier for me. How about you? If you have any ideas, don't
hesitate to join in!

April and early May were so hectic for our family. Several times we had to drive to Anchorage. In fact, several trips we made up and back in the same day. That's a 2 1/2 - 3 hour trip each direction! And while I don't always love the trip, especially under time constraints, there isn't anything that could have stopped me from going for all of the special occasions that we went for.
One such occasion was to see Amber dance. She was a part of New Dances ( which in my language means a 'bit' different) at the college. She did a fabulous job, looked so beautiful and we were all incredibly proud of her.
Barry's girlfriend, Anastasia was also a dancer that night which my girls were also excited about. They really enjoy her and think she is so beautiful!
After the performance the whole group of us (Grandpa and GiGi drove up to Anchorage too) went out to eat.
We were able to finally celebrate Scott's birthday and we all had a fun and silly evening. I actually think he was a little embarrassed. :)
As you can tell from the pictures, it was well worth the trip!

Prom
No, my girls aren't old enough to be going to prom but they sure dream about it.
We did go to AJ's promenade. We go most every year; since we live in such a small town, it's almost certain that we will know a few kids who are there.
This was Senior prom for many of the kids we are close to. It was bitter-sweet. As always, the dresses were beautiful and the boys we loads of fun. When they kids walk to runway, a lot of them do something silly at the end.
Brady (a good friend and talented hockey player) and his date had my most favorite move of the night. I know the picture is blurry but I couldn't resist sharing it with you.
AJ took an old friend as his date and they went with one of his closest friends, Vinnie and his date.. His wonderfully sweet little girlfriend didn't go to the prom with him because she graduated two years ago and felt she'd be out of place. I admire her for the decision and I think AJ did too. I think it shows amazing confidence!
I hear he had a great time. I know we had loads of fun at promenade and he even let me take oodles of pictures. They enjoy teasing me and taking these angry photos. Then we all end up in fits of laughter; they can never hold the pose for too long.
This picture of Cassi and AJ cracked us all up when we were perusing the nights photos. I didn't realize AJ friends Calvin, and Jordan were in it like they were.
And Cori thinks AJ is the bomb. Most people see a lot of similarities between the two. I think they act a lot alike.
Cali is fortunate to have a lot of older influence in her life; at least I think she is. :) In all seriousness, I know they love her dearly. AJ is really good with her and always pays her special attention, no matter where we are.
He even let me take pictures of him with his Mom. See, he really is a good boy! What teenager does that I ask you?

So I am really late getting this up this week; there were a couple late entries. I LOVE it when there we have lots of pictures. It is interesting to me to see the choices of photos. I really love Jocelyn's picture this week and I think Jenny's is pretty cool too. Cassi did a great j...ob too, don't you think? We stayed up late to get mine. I am curious to see if I've guessed Jenny's picture correctly. What do you think it is? This week was difficult for me, I can only imagine how far I will have to reach to come up with a U picture. What would you photograph. Go do it and join us next week!
